- Llegan a la redacción de NOVA comentarios de colegas periodistas y músicos de renombre recalcando tu exquisito trabajo musical. ¿Cómo sentís el alto reconocimiento de aquellos melómanos que viven con tanta emoción cada nuevo lanzamiento?

Lo vivo sorprendido, ya que no espero casi nunca elogios tan “desmedidos” como los que me llegan. A veces creo que no es por mi sino por un trabajo que representa el rescate de una estética abandonada, un romanticismo del que hoy muchas personas se burlan en un mundo sumergido en una inédita crisis de valores éticos y estéticos. También se reconoce (creó) el coraje de ir contra la corriente. En eso las personas se sienten representadas. Lo más difícil en la vida es ser libre y se aplaude al loco a quien no importa el éxito económico y sólo hace lo que quiere profundamente.

- ¿Qué inspira tu creatividad?

Precisamente la revalorización del romanticismo y la poesía en sentido contrario a movimientos “ descarnados y desangelados” que se ve en muchas expresiones artísticas, generalmente representadas por minorías con problemas de identidad que tratan de rechazar todo aquello que “”suponen” machista, sectario o excluyente de éstos colectivos. Estamos viviendo una dictadura de las minorías que pretenden romper lo que no comprenden, no aman o creen que los ignoran. Un ejemplo es el rechazo a las buenas maneras, a la excelencia del idioma, al aspecto que se traduce en una moda que exalta lo desprolijo y mal entrazado con pretensiones de “contestatariedad”.

- ¿Cómo es el paso a paso desde que tenés una idea hasta llegar a la pieza musical?

En los últimos tiempos he buscado dentro mío las emociones que me llevan al mundo de ensueños que viví en mi adolescencia. El paisaje bucólico de una Buenos Aires que tenía reminiscencias parisinas y que luego reencontré en París.
Ya en clima, trato de hurgar en la música Clásica Sinfónica para encontrar fragmentos que puedan ser cantables para unirlos ya sea a poetas clásicos o creando textos específicos para cada pieza.

La única limitación que tengo es que mi contrato con TRIBECA NEW YORK MUSIC me exige que todo sea cantado en inglés pues mi mercado es básicamente el anglófono, a pesar de mi fuerte acento francés al cantar.

- ¿A quiénes está dirigida tu música?

Siempre digo una frase que me dedicó Gabriel García Márquez: "Mis canciones son un mensaje arrojado al mar dentro de una pequeña botella'' .Vaya uno a saber quién habrá de recogerlo.

- ¿Te sorprendió haber conquistado a algún público en particular?

Si, por supuesto. Me sorprendió conquistar al público anglófono, al turco y ruso de manera masiva.

- ¿Cuál es el escenario más maravilloso que has pisado?

Sin duda el CARNEGIE HALL DE NEW YORK. Eso cambió mi reputación para siempre. Tres conciertos a sala totalmente llena.

No quise regresar para no romper la magia.

- ¿Vas a sorprendernos con alguna nueva melodía?

Igual que yo mismo me he sorprendido. Después de CASUALLY CLASSIC (4 álbumes aún sin publicar) creía que había agotado todo. Y aparecieron las nuevas (viejas) piezas con textos inéditos: Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaicovsky, Elgar…Llevadas al público popular más selecto con el apoyo orquestal de las Sinfónicas de Praga y Berlín.

- ¿Cuál es el próximo proyecto que te ocupa en este momento?

Precisamente estoy “aprendiendo “las nuevas piezas, que son bastante complejas, con una enorme emoción, casi en carne viva, tratando de ganarle al tiempo para dejar una obra grabada que seguirá existiendo, si Dios lo permite, más allá de mi breve paso por la tierra.

Very happy and busy as always.

- The NOVA editorial office receives comments from fellow journalists and renowned musicians emphasizing your exquisite musical work. How do you feel the high recognition of those music lovers who live with so much emotion each new release?

I live it surprised, since I almost never expect such "excessive" praise as the ones I receive. Sometimes I think it's not because of me but because of a work that represents the rescue of an abandoned aesthetic, a romanticism that today many people mock in a world immersed in an unprecedented crisis of ethical and aesthetic values. It also recognises (I think) the courage to go against the current. In this, people feel represented. The hardest thing in life is to be free and the madman who doesn't care about economic success and only does what he deeply wants to do is applauded.

- What inspires your creativity?

Precisely the revalorisation of romanticism and poetry in the opposite direction to the "stark and unvarnished" movements that can be seen in many artistic expressions, generally represented by minorities with identity problems who try to reject everything that they "suppose" to be sexist, sectarian or excluding of these collectives. We are living a dictatorship of minorities who try to break what they don't understand, don't love or believe that it ignores them. One example is the rejection of good manners, of the excellence of language, of appearance, which translates into a fashion that exalts the untidy and poorly groomed with pretensions of "contestateness".

- How is the step by step from the moment you have an idea until you get to the musical piece?

In recent times I search inside myself for the emotions that take me to the world of dreams that I lived in my adolescence. The bucolic landscape of a Buenos Aires that was reminiscent of Paris and that I later rediscovered in Paris.5- When I am in the mood, I try to delve into Classical Symphonic music to find fragments that can be sung to join them either to classical poets or creating specific texts for each piece.The only limitation I have is that my contract with TRIBECA NEW YORK MUSIC requires that everything be sung in English because my market is basically English speaking, despite my strong French accent when singing.

- Who is your music for? To whom is your music addressed?

I always say a phrase that Gabriel García Marquez dedicated to me: "my songs are a message thrown into the sea in a small bottle".

- Were you surprised to have conquered a particular public?

Yes, of course. I was surprised to win over the English-speaking, Turkish and Russian audiences in a massive way.

- What is the most wonderful stage you have ever played on?

Without a doubt the CARNEGIE HALL IN NEW YORK. It changed my reputation forever. 3 sold out concerts, I didn't want to go back so as not to break the magic.

- Are you going to surprise us with a new tune?

Just as I have surprised myself. After CASUALLY CLASSIC (4 albums still unreleased) I thought I had exhausted everything. And the new (old) pieces with unpublished texts appeared: Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaicovsky, Elgar...brought to the most select popular public with the orchestral support of the Prague and Berlin Symphonies.

- What is your next project at the moment?

I am precisely "learning" the new pieces, which are quite complex, with enormous emotion, almost in the flesh, trying to beat time to leave a recorded work that will continue to exist, God willing, beyond my brief time on earth.
